AMC now lists Wuthering Heights, led by Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, with a runtime topping two hours and a newly set MPA rating, teasing a brooding, big-screen take on the classic.

Valentine's Day 2026 just got moodier: Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi's Wuthering Heights now has a runtime and rating, and yeah, it sounds like a proper Wuthering Heights.

Per a new AMC Theatres listing, the adaptation clocks in at 2 hours and 16 minutes (136 minutes) and lands an R from the MPA. The reasons are about what you'd expect for this particular stormy romance:

"sexual content, some violent content and language"

What we know right now

  • Release date: February 14, 2026
  • Runtime: 2 hours 16 minutes (136 minutes)
  • Rating: R from the MPA (see the official reason above)
  • Leads: Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw; Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff
  • Supporting cast: Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton; Hong Chau as Nelly Dean; Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton
  • Filmmaker: Emerald Fennell is writing, directing, and producing. It's her next feature after 2023's Saltburn and 2020's Promising Young Woman.

In case your high school syllabus is fuzzy: Emily Bronte's 1847 novel follows the twisted, obsessive bond between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, stretching across years and two neighboring families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons. It's one of those canonized classics that refuses to behave, which is why people keep adapting it for film, TV, and the stage.

The Valentine’s Day release is a darkly funny choice, given this story is more thunderstorm and heartbreak than hearts and flowers. With Fennell steering and that R rating, expect something intense rather than tidy.
