Prime Video’s revenge thriller Malice has viewers hooked and hungry for answers. Will Season 2 get the green light, or is the vendetta over after just one season? Here’s where its renewal stands now.

If you are eyeing Prime Video's new revenge thriller 'Malice' and already wondering if it is a one-season fling or the start of a saga, you are not alone. Here is where things stand, plus what the show actually is and why Jack Whitehall is the curveball at the center of it.

Renewal status: not canceled, not renewed

As of right now, Prime Video has not made a call on a Season 2. 'Malice' launches Friday, November 14, and it is a full-season drop: all six episodes go live at once. After the premiere, Prime Video will look at the viewership and engagement and then decide whether to bring it back.

What 'Malice' is about

Jack Whitehall plays Adam Healey, a disarmingly charming nanny who slides into the orbit of the very wealthy Tanner family during their holiday in Greece after the family’s previous nanny suddenly falls seriously ill. Adam ingratiates himself fast, and the longer he sticks around, the more his agenda peeks through.

Back in London, Adam starts working on the parents: Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat Tanner (Carice van Houten). He pushes buttons, pits them against each other, and quietly sets up a plan to blow up the family from the inside. Meanwhile, people start poking around in Adam’s past and stumble into a dangerous tangle of lies and obsession. The core mystery becomes simple: can Jamie figure out what Adam is really doing before everything collapses?

Who is who

  • Jack Whitehall as Adam Healey, the outwardly perfect nanny with a hidden agenda
  • David Duchovny as Jamie Tanner
  • Carice van Houten as Nat Tanner

Jack Whitehall on switching gears

If you mostly know Whitehall for comedy, this is him taking a sharp left turn. He told TV Insider the show lets him play in a very different lane:

"I have worked a lot in the comedy space, but I have never had the opportunity to sort of flex those muscles as an actor and play a very different part in a very different type of show and new genre to me. I leapt at the opportunity to get to have this opportunity to try something so different."

So, is Season 2 happening?

Maybe. Maybe not. There is no official yes or no yet. Prime Video will see how Season 1 performs once it is out on November 14 and make the call after that. If that changes, I will update you.
