Luke Newton's Transformation Makes Us Excited for Bridgerton Season 3 Even More

If there's anyone who can make a lady-killer out of a leading man, it is undoubtedly Shonda Rhimes. The iconic showrunner has proven this time and again with her Netflix hit romance series Bridgerton.

Remember when everyone was all over Regé-Jean Page after the show debuted with the steamy romantic story of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset? Well, that fan obsession lasted right until everyone saw the glow-up of Jonathan Bailey's Anthony Bridgerton in the second season.

There seemed to be a world of difference between the Season 1 Lord Bridgerton, who was just a supporting character, and the Season 2 protagonist, who felt intense and sexy. Now the same thing is happening with Luke Newton and his character.

The time to pull the focus is getting closer as Season 3, which centers on the love arc of Colin and Penelope Featherington, is approaching. And, judging by Luke's new photos, the actor has undergone a huge transformation to portray his character in the upcoming season.

The Bridgerton star recently sent fans into a frenzy with the Wimbledon 2023 pictures he posted on Instagram.

'I can't adequately express how good looking he is. The chest hair, the jewelry, HIS JAWLINE. He will put me into an early grave but like, I'm okay with it,' a fan commented on the post, echoing the sentiment of many others.

Of course, the first thing everyone noticed was the change in hairstyle, which made Newton look older, more mature and handsome. Secondly, he seems to have gotten in shape. Earlier, Jonathan Bailey shared that he got in really good shape for Season 2 as the lead, so it would be natural for Luke to do the same.

All in all, the actor has always exuded that 'old Hollywood star' vibe, but never so much. It's no wonder that when Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope, saw Colin's Season 3 first look, she seemed to have gotten a little crush on her co-star.

'[Luke] just sent me a picture of him — I have to show it to you — for a fitting for Season 3, and oh my God! It's really, I like felt very weird. I was like… Luke!' Coughlan shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
