Love is Blind Fans Seem to Be as Creeped Out by Zack as Irina Was

Early into the fourth season, several women had already received marriage proposals, prompting them to finally meet their partners in person. For most couples, the encounter was love at first sight, but one couple's experience was very different.

Zack Goytowski and Irina Solomonova's awkward encounter had fans reeling from secondhand embarrassment, especially with Zack leaning in for a kiss and Irina abruptly dodging him.

Their initial encounter also saw her telling him that he looked like a cartoon character and that he needed to blink. Irina had caught the Ick, but she wasn’t the only one creeped out and uncomfortable with Zack, fans were feeling the same way even before the pair met.

Numerous Reddit users shared Irina’s feelings, Birdsandflowers11 said “ I just think his staring or body language makes me feel like “yuck” for some reason”

Right in the beginning his sense of humor was off-putting as he joked that he was a stripper, what made it even weirder was when he later revealed that his mother had been a stripper.

Zack’s song had fans covering their ears. His voice shook, he looked uncomfortable, the song itself was terrible and he compared Irina to a Blarney Stone, which is a stone in Ireland that everyone kisses.

Redditor Thewalkingchaoz said that they “honestly feel like the combo of him and Irina made him seem more creepy than he actually is- I think he was most uncomfortable and probably didn't know how to act/react around her” It was Irina icing him out and not being honest about how she felt that led to his painfully optimistic attempts to connect with her that made him come across as even more creepy.

Even Irina making barriers between them in the bed didn’t stop Zack from blowing the cringiest kisses to her from his side of the bed, without blinking of course.

Fans have gone as far as to speculate that Zack may be neurodivergent, user Thelonelyvirgo was “willing to bet money he’s high-functioning and on the spectrum.”

Irina was certainly not the right match for Zack and he should have chosen Bliss. Irina was creeped out by Zack and her subtle rejection of him definitely made things more difficult for him as he became more awkward and came off as creepy trying to connect with her.

Many fans have come to his defense, and genuinely don't think he deserved to be labeled as a creep, despite his occasional odd behavior. Pocketfullofcrap boiled it down to “People watching thought he looked "off" and so they project a "creeper" character unto him.’
