Season 3 press is in jeopardy.

Workers in the entertainment industry have been making headlines lately, with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) on strike since May 2 and actors represented by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) preparing to join the writers on July 12.

What the unions want from the major studios, networks, and streaming services is better pay and conditions for everyone, including newbies, and a resolution to the issues of streaming residuals and AI competition. If these demands are not met, thousands of actors will follow in the footsteps of Hollywood writers and walk off the job for the first time since the 1980s.

Such a dramatic development will result in actors not only being unable to film current productions, but also to participate in press tours, project promotions, and fan events, including Comic-Con. The upcoming strike will delay the production of hundreds of projects and impact the press surrounding those movies and TV shows that premiere in the coming months, including Bridgerton Season 3.

If the SAG strike happens, the Bridgerton cast is sure to join it. The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, has supported the WGA since day one.

'I am a writer on strike right now,' she said after receiving a BAFTA Special Award in May (per The Hollywood Reporter). 'I feel the pain of the people who are dealing with the strike, but for me, for writers to get paid for what they do in a fair way is far more important.'

While the exact release date for Bridgerton Season 3 has not yet been announced, the December premiere has been in the rumor mill lately. This means that the promotional campaign for the season should start in a few weeks, including the official announcement, short teaser clips, official trailers, and of course, the media buzz created by the stars of the series participating in various interviews, promo videos, and so on.

That last part is now in jeopardy, and Bridgerton fans are saddened by the potentially ruined Season 3 experience.

'I guess this could even impact Season 3 press,' a fan wrote on Reddit. 'I really hope they reach an agreement.'

Even so, the majority of fans are in support of the writers and actors in their efforts to negotiate better terms for themselves.

'Let it affect S3 press if it means writers get paid and treated fairly. They deserve to get paid their worth,' another fan wrote, to the approval of others.

Hopefully, the unions and the studios will come to an agreement soon, which will help everyone move forward the best way possible.
