Looks Like #TeamAnetra Won Already; Time for RuPaul's Season 15 to Follow
It looks like the fan support for this season's dark horse has broken all records.
RuPaul's Drag Race suffered through a less-than-perfect transition to MTV this season, as fans were upset that the shorter episodes prevented them from getting to know the queens better.
However, despite this unfortunate issue, Season 15 still delivered in terms of sheer excitement, introducing 16 talented queens to the series' roster of exciting contestants.
And now as the season approaches its end, there are only four queens left, and only two of them are worthy of winning the crown, according to fans.
In anticipation of the finale, fans have split into two warring factions — those supporting Sasha Colby, an undeniable frontrunner of the season, and those who support Anetra, the dark horse of season 15 who stunned everyone by winning three challenges and performing on par with Colby throughout the season.
But which queen has the most support from RuPaul's fans?
According to an official RuPaul's Drag Race ranking, where each queen gets her own hashtag and fans use it to support their favorites on Instagram and Twitter, Anetra is much more popular than Sasha.
The queen has more than 211 thousand likes on Instagram and 53 thousand on Twitter, while Sasha has almost 180 thousand on Instagram and 50 thousand on Twitter. Quite a difference, don't you think?
Anetra also broke Crystal Methyd's previous record of 197 thousand likes on Instagram, which officially makes her the most popular queen in Top 4 history! And though Sasha is still in the lead in terms of the reality show itself, it looks like fans are much more eager to see Anetra take home $200,000 and the crown.
But can this really happen? According to most fans, not really.
People feel that while Anetra has continuously proven her uniqueness throughout Season 15, Sasha has been riding on her iconic status in the drag community, possibly even making the judges overlook her flaws.
So while viewers clearly want Anetra to win this season, Sasha is still more likely to take the crown.
