Little Nightmares 3 lands with sharper puzzles, heart-stopping chases, and thicker dread—so how long will it haunt you? Here’s the runtime you can expect.

Little Nightmares 3 is out now (released October 10, 2025), and yes, it sticks the landing. It basically takes the best parts of the first two games and tightens the screws: trickier puzzles, sharper chase sequences, and that slow-burn dread the series does better than most. If you just want to know how long this nightmare actually lasts, here’s the clean version without wandering around The Spiral for hours like I did.

How long it takes to beat

If you play at a normal pace on your first run, expect about 5 hours and 30 minutes to roll credits. If you blaze through it with a friend in co-op and skip the extra stuff, you can knock it out in roughly 3 hours and 30 minutes.

There are four chapters total, and they generally run 1 to 2 hours each depending on how much you explore and how many times you get grabbed by something you absolutely should not have looked at.

  • Necropolis - about 1 hour
  • Candy Factory - about 1 hour
  • Carnevale - about 1 hour 30 minutes
  • The Institute - about 2 hours

Total: around 5 hours 30 minutes for a standard playthrough.

Chasing 100% and what those collectibles actually are

The game tracks 32 trophies overall. Most of them are tied to finding hidden spots and secret items, and a few require you to finish the game with a different character. If you want the full completion and every trophy, budget about 7 to 8 hours.

Here’s where the details get a little confusing in the way only game collectibles can: the counts you’ll see for dolls, crows, figurines, Nomes, and Child Ghosts stack up to way more than 32. That’s because those are individual collectibles scattered through the chapters, and multiple of them feed into trophy unlocks. So no, you’re not hunting 57 trophies; you’re collecting a bunch of items that roll up into that 32-trophy total.

The breakdown the game uses:

- 25 dolls, which are the primary collectible overall

- 11 crows, only in Chapter One

- 10 Lady Figurines and 6 Nomes, mostly in Chapter Three

- 5 Child Ghosts, only in Chapter Four

If you’re going for all of it, pace yourself. The Spiral hides things in exactly the places you don’t want to crawl into.

DLC roadmap

Two additional chapters are on the way to dig deeper into The Spiral:

- First add-on: slated for release sometime between April and June 2026

- Second add-on: slated for release between October and December 2026

Both DLC chapters are already up for purchase on Steam right now.

Bottom line

Short, tense, and pointed in the right ways. If the series ever clicked for you, this one’s a very easy yes—especially if you’ve got a co-op buddy who can handle their nerves when the lights go out.
