Chris Pratt is ready to rocket back into action, revealing he wants to give Marvel's Star-Lord his own solo movie after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hinted at the legendary outlaw’s return.

Well, here's something that's both totally unsurprising and kind of fun if you're a Marvel fan: Chris Pratt is officially lobbying for his own Star-Lord solo flick. Yeah, the guy apparently isn't ready to hand over the keys to the Milano just yet.

Pratt's Ready for a Star-Lord Return (Again)

If you caught Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 last year (the James Gunn send-off), you probably noticed the little end-credits note about 'The Legendary Star-Lord will return.' Since then, though? Radio silence from Marvel about when—or even if—Peter Quill's next dance solo is happening. No confirmed sightings in the next big crossover event, Avengers: Doomsday, either.

Chris Pratt Makes It Clear: He Wants That Movie

In a recent interview with ScreenTime, Pratt was asked point-blank if there was a role he'd be down to revisit. His answer was as clear as you can get:

'Oh man, I mean listen, we made a promise with Guardians of the Galaxy that Star-Lord would return. I think I would really love to make good on that promise; that would be awesome.'

So yeah, not exactly subtle.

What Would a Star-Lord Movie Even Look Like?

The interview got a little goofy when the topic turned to what a Star-Lord solo adventure might actually involve. One suggestion: Quill wandering Earth, essentially being a DJ, Pied Piper-style, getting everyone to listen to his playlists. Pratt ran with it and pitched his own (intentionally silly) title:

'Star-Lord Assemble Music Mission.'

Sounds more like a Spotify ad than a Marvel movie, but hey, you gotta respect the self-awareness.

So What's Star-Lord Up to on Earth?

Pratt kept the jokes coming, riffing on the idea that Peter Quill would be spending most of his Earth time trying to downplay any blame for Iron Man's death (yet also reminding everyone he used to be a superhero). Imagine the guy at the coffee shop: 'No really, I was in space. Feet on the table. Groot? Talking tree? No?'

Oh, and apparently Quill would go on the ultimate music binge, catching up on everything he missed. In Pratt's words, that's 'from 70s pop all the way until he came back.' Given the guy's taste, this could singlehandedly boost Spotify's quarterly numbers.

If You're Wondering About Marvel's Plans... Keep Wondering

As of now, Marvel hasn't made any moves—or even hints—about officially spinning off Star-Lord. The franchise is kind of in flux, and even Pratt jokes can't change that. Still, if you're the betting type, I'd put some money on Peter Quill showing up somewhere down the line, if only because Marvel has a near-obsessive love of callbacks.

  • Last seen: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
  • Latest appearance: Chris Pratt on ScreenTime, actively campaigning
  • Official Marvel update: None on a Star-Lord solo movie or appearance in Avengers: Doomsday
  • Heralded return: Still just a post-credits promise

Bottom line: Pratt's pushing for it, but it's anyone's guess when—or if—the legendary Star-Lord will take a solo lap.
