Lindsay Lohan Teams Up With Game of Thrones Lead in New Hulu Series
Hulu’s buzzy limited series Count My Lies just leveled up, with Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington joining Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley in the adaptation of Sophie Stava’s novel as production kicks into gear.
Hulu just turned its already buzzy thriller into a three-hander: Kit Harington is joining Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley in the limited series 'Count My Lies,' adapted from Sophie Stava's novel. Big names, juicy premise, and the kind of setup that screams: somebody in this house is absolutely not okay.
What the show is actually about
Woodley plays Sloane Caraway, a compulsive liar who talks her way into a nanny job with a glamorous couple. Naturally, that dream gig is not what it looks like on the brochure.
'When compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart (Harington), it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.'
So yes, the premise is messy on purpose.
Who is playing who (and who is making it)
- Kit Harington is Jay Lockhart, one half of the couple employing Sloane.
- Lindsay Lohan is Violet, the other half of that very photogenic household.
- Shailene Woodley leads as Sloane Caraway, the slippery nanny at the center of it all.
- Showrunners: Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who are also executive producing via The Walk-Up Company.
- Director/EP: Antonio Campos.
- Platform: Hulu. Format: limited series. Source material: the novel by Sophie Stava.
Why adding Harington matters
You know him from eight seasons of 'Game of Thrones' as Jon Snow, but Harington has been mixing it up on the film side with 'Eternals' and the indie thriller 'Baby Ruby.' On TV, he recently popped up in a guest spot on Lena Dunham's Netflix series 'Too Much,' and he is set to appear in HBO's finance drama 'Industry' when Season 4 lands on January 11. Him stepping into a slick, secret-laden relationship thriller opposite Lohan and Woodley feels like the exact kind of left turn that keeps this thing interesting.
Where this leaves 'Count My Lies'
Production is moving ahead, the cast keeps stacking, and the creative team is locked. Between the premise and this trio, expect a glossy, nerve-prickly thriller where every conversation feels like a trap. More secrets incoming.
