Lilo & Stitch Cast: See The Live-Action Actors & Their Cartoon Counterparts
The live-action remake will feature many familiar faces.
In recent years, Disney has treated us to some cool live-action adaptations of the studio's iconic animated movies, and while The Little Mermaid is still screening in theaters, another similar project is already on the horizon.
A live-action remake of 2003's Lilo & Stitch is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2024 or 2025. Let's look at the actors who will bring the story to the big screen.
Chris Sanders as Stitch
The creator of the cartoon character voiced the amiable alien in every single installment of the franchise and is now set to reprise the role in the upcoming live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, further cementing his legacy.
Remarkably, when Chris Sanders came up with Stitch in 1985 for a children's book, his idea wasn't appreciated. Later, he re-pitched the blue alien-dog to Disney, and the rest is history.
Maia Kealoha as Lilo
The seven-years-old Hawaiian actress is new to the industry and doesn't have any credited projects yet, but the role of Lilo will certainly skyrocket her career. The character was voiced by Daveigh Chase in the 2003 film.
Sydney Agudong as Nani
The star and creator of Infamously in Love has appeared on a number of well-known series, including Netflix's On My Block and CBS' NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service. In the new movie, Sydney Agudong is going to portray Lilo's older sister/guardian Nani, voiced in the 2003 film by Tia Carrere. The latter is also set to star in the upcoming project as a new character.
Billy Magnussen as Pleakley
The eccentric alien spy and master of disguise will be played by Billy Magnussen, the ultimate crime-drama actor who seems to have appeared on every procedural show of recent years, including several installments of Law & Order, NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Blue Bloods. Pleakley was voiced by Kevin McDonald in the 2003 movie.
Zach Galifianakis as Jumba
The star of The Hangover film series is going to bring his zest and humor to Lilo & Stitch as the frolicsome scientist/on-screen creator of Stitch. Dr. Jookiba was originally voiced by the late legend, David Ogden Stiers.
Kaipo Dudoit as David
Nani's supportive and easy-going boyfriend will be played by Kaipo Dudoit, an up-and-coming actor whom you may have seen on NBC's Magnum P.I. Jason Scott Lee, who voiced the character in the 2003 movie, will also appear in the adaptation, playing a luau teacher.
Amy Hill as Tutu
The legendary comedienne is reprising her role as David's grandma, bringing all the charm of her original character to the live-action remake.
Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles
The hunky social worker who looks after Lilo and Nani will be portrayed by Courtney B. Vance, an Emmy and Tony-winner whose acting portfolio is stupendous. Vance played several characters in Law & Order over the years and starred in Lovecraft Country, among other notable works.
