Save your sentiments for later, folks!

Dr. Taylor Hayes is the most appropriate character for the most inappropriate soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. Introduced in 1990, the character's fate was as chaotic as the show's plot. Originally portrayed by actress Hunter Tylo, Taylor was repeatedly written in and out of the plot, holding the regular, recurring, and episodic status up until 2018, when Tylo finally left the project.

Filling her shoes in 2021, Krista Allen proved to be an equally talented actress, perfectly continuing the story of the woman Ridge affectionately called 'Doc'. For many fans, the actress was about the only reason they came back to B&B, and her virtual absence of late made one wonder if the writers had written the character out once and for all. Fortunately, Allen isn't going anywhere, except that we'll have to wait a little longer for her next appearance.

Anxiety and fury

Taylor's storyline was essentially shut down after Ridge announced that he was committed to Brooke, and the beloved world-renowned psychiatrist went off on her own to conquer Rome and meet her and Ridge's daughter, Steffy.

There has been no news about the character since, leaving fans angry and concerned, to say the least, that yet another female cast member may have been fired.

'I'm hoping she isn’t fired because she did a good job as Taylor. But given Taylor's absence it doesn't surprise me that the show is writing her off. Such a waste of a talented actress,' a fan said on X.

Response from representatives

But it's too early to get emotional, dear fans! Soap Hub, a magazine dedicated to daytime soap operas, managed to get in touch with a representative of the show. According to them, '[Taylor's] portrayer, Allen, is still on contract so the actress and the character aren't going anywhere.'

This is for the best! Steffy definitely needs her mother's support and maybe even therapy, and Taylor herself needs a liberating therapeutic stay in Italy where she can finally discover herself as a woman not dependent on others (and especially Ridge).

When will Taylor reappear?

According to the show's representative, Taylor will return to our screens in less than two weeks, on September 27, 28 and 29. She will also appear in the following episodes in October. Hopefully these appearances on the show will not be the end of it, and the almost two week wait will be fully justified!
