Warm up those pipes—Golden will be back on full blast before you know it.

If you missed belting the hooks from Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters with a theater full of strangers, you get another shot. And yes, they timed it for Halloween weekend, because demons, obviously.

The singalong returns (again)

The singalong cut is headed back to theaters for a limited run in the U.S. and beyond, according to Netflix's Tudum. Earlier this year, when Netflix first rolled that singalong version into theaters, it actually topped the domestic box office, nudging past the horror movie 'Weapons'. Then it hit Netflix proper. Now it is looping back to the big screen for a few nights of glow-stick energy and on-screen lyrics.

  • When: Friday, Oct 31 through Sunday, Nov 2 (Halloween weekend)
  • Where in the U.S.: AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and other select theaters
  • Also playing in: Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile
  • Format: The full-on singalong version, back by popular demand

The numbers, the music, the future

KPop Demon Hunters has been a full-on global phenomenon. Multiple songs from the movie have taken over the charts, and by Netflix's count it is the service's most popular release ever, with a massive 325.1 million views. A sequel is potentially in the works, and there is a short film on the horizon too.

About that live-action rumor...

If you heard whispers about a live-action remake, temper expectations. Co-director Maggie Kang does not sound sold on the idea, to put it mildly:

"There are so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are just built for animation. It is hard to picture these characters in live action. It would feel too grounded, and the tone would not work for me."

Bottom line: if you want to sing with a crowd, Halloween weekend is your window. If you want to watch from the couch, KPop Demon Hunters is streaming on Netflix right now.
