A psychological detective story with an unexpected ending, a fantasy horror about the meaning of life, and a romantic comedy about the rich.

Korean dramas have long been an integral part of the serial industry, not only in their home country, but also around the world. We have рcosen three of the most talked about k-dramas this December.

1. Light Shop, 2024

The light shop is the only island of light in a dark alley. Various visitors come in, but not all of them are ordinary customers. Who they really are and how their fates are connected, the viewer will find out only after the fifth episode.

Each of the first four episodes tells a new story. First, we meet a strange girl sitting alone at a bus stop with a suitcase. Then we meet a writer who rents a house with a mysterious room that must not be opened.

Next, a schoolgirl comes to the store to buy a light bulb on her mother's orders. And then there is a detective who sees the dead people whose cases he is investigating. Gradually, the man understands that strange things are happening not only around him, but also to him.

In the middle of the series, the individual storylines begin to merge, and the intrigue becomes even more intense. The most important answers are given by the story of a nurse. She works in the intensive care unit and also meets mysterious people.

2. The Trunk, 2024

The drama revolves around the company, which organizes short-term contract marriages. It offers its clients the opportunity to marry not for the sake of love, but to solve specific problems – from improving their social status to comforting their loved ones.

One of the key figures in the agency is Noh In-ji, a deputy director who is cynical about marriage. Her own wedding was once canceled because of compromising photos of the groom.

Every character here has their own secrets, and everyone has a controversial past. This is not just a drama, but a dark psychological thriller whose tension and minimalist style are reminiscent of Yorgos Lanthimos' works.

3. Sorry Again, 2024

Song-Yi recently broke up with her fiancé because he cheated on her. She was left alone in a new apartment that she had mortgaged with her ex-lover. The woman is forced to hide her loneliness from her neighbors, as this area is mainly inhabited by successful and wealthy families. But a surprising event interrupts her routine.

Song-Yi's sister returns from the US with a five-year-old child. Now Song-Yi has to take care of her nephew. She takes him to a prestigious English-language kindergarten, and the mothers mistakenly think that Song-Yi is the boy's mother.

They want to make a profitable acquaintance with her and invite her to join an elite children's club. Song-Yi becomes hostage to a new role for herself – a wealthy and successful mother from the US.
