Bring It On turns 25, and the original squad is back: Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union and more packed LA’s Alamo Drafthouse for a celebratory screening followed by a spirited fan Q&A.

Bring It On just hit 25, and the original squad actually got back together to celebrate. No reboot tease, no multiverse cameo. Just the stars, a packed theater, and a lot of nostalgia in downtown LA.

The reunion, the vibe, the details

  • When: September 21, a few weeks after the movie officially turned 25 in August
  • Where: Alamo Drafthouse, Downtown Los Angeles
  • Who showed: Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union, Jesse Bradford, and Lindsay Sloane
  • What went down: A special anniversary screening, then a photo session and a fan Q&A moderated by Amanda Dobbins
  • On the record: Alamo Drafthouse LA shared the reunion on Instagram

Union marked the anniversary with fans before the party

Ahead of the event, Gabrielle Union posted a heartfelt video on August 24 thanking everyone who still finds inspiration in Isis. She made it clear the film is more than a peppy cheer comedy; it also digs into bigger cultural stuff that, yes, still hits today.

About a sequel: Dunst is not interested

Kirsten Dunst told Entertainment Tonight she has zero plans to revisit Torrance. Her reasoning is pretty straightforward:

'No. I'm like, leave good things where they are.'

'I don't need to put on a cheerleading outfit. I don't even know what I would do - be a coach or something? Nah. Let's leave it as is.'

Quick refresher on the original

Directed by Peyton Reed, Bring It On follows Torrance Shipman (Dunst), who takes over as captain of the Toros and discovers their award-winning routines were swiped from the East Compton Clovers, led by Isis (Union). Torrance has to clean up the mess, fight to keep her captain spot, and figure out who she is as a leader while the Clovers claim what was theirs all along.

Bottom line: a 25th birthday party that reminded everyone why the movie still lands - it's fun, it's sharper than people remember, and, per Dunst, it's probably best left exactly where it is.
