The decade-long feud seems to be still on.

Season 2 of And Just Like That… is on its way, and fans can't contain their excitement – it's been confirmed Kim Cattrall will be making a cameo appearance as her iconic character, Samantha Jones. She was one of the four original characters on Sex and the City, HBO's extremely popular show that aired from 1998 to 2004 and inspired numerous spinoffs and movie adaptations. Vibrant, self-confident, and light-hearted, Samantha was arguably the most popular of the four friends from the Big Apple the original series was centred on.

However, things were not as idyllic behind the scenes. While Samantha was the group's charismatic leader on-screen, adored and looked up to by her friends, Kim Cattrall and her co-stars experienced tension for decades.

The Ice Princess actress famously feuded with Sarah Jessica Parker, who portrayed Carrie Bradshaw, the show's central character, while Sex and the City was still running. Cattrall advocated for equal pay for herself, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, who, at the peak of SATC's popularity, were receiving significantly less than Sara Jessica Parker, who had been promoted to executive producer and was raking in millions. The resentment the actresses developed towards each other seems to persist to this day.

Although Kim Cattrall will reprise the role of Samantha in season 2 of And Just Like That…, she won't actually appear in the sequel alongside the rest of the cast. Given their unpleasant history, it should come as no surprise that the actress demanded the producers spare her any interaction with her former colleagues.

'Kim had two stipulations — one, that she would not act with any of the other girls, and two, she did not want to see Michael Patrick King,' an insider revealed to Elle.

Instead, Samantha will be seen and heard during a brief phone call with Carrie. The scene was filmed separately, with Cattrall and Parker never seeing or hearing each other as per Cattrall's demands. More importantly, the short cameo may be regarded as Cattrall's win.

'She will have gotten a sh*tload of money. It just shows the power of Kim... They still need her on the show. But even though this may get fans thinking she’ll be back for the next season, she’ll never do that. She was treated poorly. I’m glad she gets to be the hero … I’m sure it took a lot of massaging to make the cameo happen,' the informant added.

Whatever your opinion is about Kim Cattrall's return to And Just Like That…, Samantha will undoubtedly bring a sparkle to the spinoff. Season 2 is scheduled for release on 22 June.
