Kate Middleton's Coronation Headpiece Has All the Fans Saying One Thing
The future Queen Consort looked magnificent thanks to her stunning leaf-shaped headpiece.
The most important event for the British royal family, all British people, and the rest of the world who follow the life of the British monarchy finally happened. On May 6, King Charles III's coronation took place, making him and his wife, Camilla, the official rulers of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms.
But besides the royal couple, other members of the family were also in the spotlight at the event — most notably the heir apparent, Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton.
The current Prince and Princess of Wales have always managed to impress the public with their impeccable attire well fit for the tone and requirements of an official occasion. At the coronation ceremony, the couple looked excellent once again, as William wore a military uniform with ceremonial robes, while Kate simply stole the show with a beautiful headpiece.
'Obsessed with those headpieces. I think I gasped when I saw them the first time. Both Kate and Charlotte look stunning,' one of the fans said. Kate and William's daughter, Princess Charlotte, was also wearing a matching accessory on her head, and it looked equally stunning.
The handcrafted headpiece was created in collaboration between milliner Jess Collett and couturier Alexander McQueen. Designed in the form of a coronet, the headpiece features three-dimensional embroidery of leaves embellished with silver and crystals.
It is worth noting that King Charles' crowning event was meant to look more time-appropriate (although the budget was still huge), so the dress code did not call for tiaras or any elaborate headpieces. However, it looks like the Princess of Wales found a loophole to look both modern and majestic at the same time, opting for a cross between a tiara and a crown.
Furthermore, Kate's leaf-shaped headpiece aligned well with the 'green' theme of Charles' coronation, which sought to respect natural and eco-friendly elements. Ultimately, her look showed the Princess' respect for the royal traditions and the new King and Queen, and the beautiful headpiece complemented her outfit perfectly.
Now it seems that the 'Kate Middleton effect' is back in full force, as this stunning headpiece is on every fan's wishlist! And it's too bad not many of us can afford an exact replica by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen.
