It looks like the iconic show could be back for a full-blown ongoing series.

FX's Justified became one of the most iconic shows of the past decade, with millions of viewers turning in weekly to follow the quest of Timothy Olyphant's Marshal Raylan Givens to put Walton Goggins' Boyd Crowder behind bars. Although the show ended in 2015, fans continued to watch and discuss the story in the following years, prompting FX producers to finally order a long-awaited sequel — the limited series Justified: City Primeval, set to debut next month.

This time around, Raylan will find himself in Detroit chasing the Oklahoma Wildman, Clement Mansel, played by Boyd Holbrook. While the fandom is excited to see the iconic Marshal back for an eight-episode miniseries, some fans are still a little sour, preparing to never see Givens again when the upcoming series ends.

However, according to Timothy Olyphant himself, he loves playing Raylon so much that he wouldn't mind returning for more Justified stories in the future.

'I'd show up. I had a good time. Every time we've done this, I've had a good time,' the actor said during the ATX TV Festival in Austin.

According to early reviews of the upcoming series, the next chapter in the Givens saga is just as exciting as the previous one, with Holbrook getting a lot of credit for creating a villain as iconic as Crowder.

If City Primeval continues to get great reviews and attracts a decent number of viewers, FX will most likely renew the show for multiple seasons, as the network is currently struggling to compete with streaming giants like Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, and Amazon Prime. With that in mind, bringing back a previously beloved show sounds like a great idea.

But even if the series doesn't get renewed, Justified already boasts a great legacy. Arguably, Olyphant's series was the first to prove that neo-Westerns could not only find an audience, but also become a hit, thus paving the way for popular shows like Yellowstone and Tulsa King.

Justified: City Primeval is set to premiere on FX on July 18, 2023.
