Jujutsu Kaisen storms back on January 8, 2026, with Season 3, as Crunchyroll drops the first two episodes on premiere day. Fresh off the devastation of the Shibuya Incident, the series charges into the brutal Culling Game.

Good news if you still haven't emotionally recovered from Shibuya: Jujutsu Kaisen is back on January 8, 2026, and Crunchyroll is dropping the first two episodes on day one. Season 3 kicks the door open straight into the Culling Game setup, so expect a lot of new faces, a lot of fights, a lot of rules, and Yuta fully entering his 'I am terrifying now' era.

When and where to watch

Season 3 premieres January 8, 2026 on Crunchyroll with a two-episode launch. After that, new episodes roll out every Thursday. It's a global simulcast, so subbed episodes usually hit Crunchyroll about 1–2 hours after the Japanese TV broadcast.

In Japan, it airs first on MBS/TBS's Super Animeism block before streaming. Crunchyroll is carrying it across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia.

If you want to catch up: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, Season 2, and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie are all on Crunchyroll right now.

What Season 3 actually covers

This run picks up immediately after the Shibuya Incident and moves into the Culling Game arc. Manga-wise, that's:

- Itadori's Extermination (Ch. 137–143)
- Perfect Preparation (Ch. 144–158)
- The Culling Game (Ch. 159–221)

The Culling Game is essentially a deadly tournament engineered by Kenjaku where both sorcerers and newly awakened non-sorcerers are forced into battles under a pile of convoluted rules. It's big, it's messy, and it's exactly the kind of arc that turns the power scale into a rollercoaster.

Episode count and structure

MAPPA hasn't announced a final episode count yet. Based on past pacing and cour splits, the safe bet is roughly 23–24 episodes total. Unofficial chatter points to a two-cour season (two halves with a break), and the official part we do have right now is the two-episode premiere on day one.

Release schedule

There's a slightly unusual wrinkle: the compilation film 'Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution' screened the first two episodes in theaters ahead of streaming. Here's the expected weekly rollout on Crunchyroll (Thursdays after the premiere):

  • Episodes 1 and 2 — January 8, 2026
  • Episode 3 — January 15, 2026
  • Episode 4 — January 22, 2026
  • Episode 5 — January 29, 2026
  • Episode 6 — February 5, 2026
  • Episode 7 — February 12, 2026
  • Episode 8 — February 19, 2026
  • Episode 9 — February 26, 2026
  • Episode 10 — March 5, 2026
  • Episode 11 — March 12, 2026
  • Episode 12 — March 19, 2026
  • Episode 13 — March 26, 2026

After Episode 13, expect the season to continue with Cour 2 in Spring 2026 on the same weekly cadence.

A quick manga note

Gege Akutami's manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 through September 2024, finishing at 30 volumes. Season 3 is adapting the stretch that slingshots us from Shibuya's aftermath into the full chaos of the Culling Game, which is where a ton of long-teased matchups and power reveals start paying off.

Bottom line: January 8, two episodes on day one, weekly Thursdays after that, and a whole lot of curse-heavy combat. See you in the colonies.
