Jeremy Renner Just Dropped The Hawkeye Season 2 Update Fans Have Been Waiting For

Jeremy Renner signals a Hawkeye comeback: after his 2023 snowplow recovery, he says talks with Marvel are heating up, hinting Clint Barton could take aim again in Season 2.
Jeremy Renner just gave the clearest sign yet that Hawkeye Season 2 isn’t a pipe dream. He says the conversations with Marvel are happening, he’s feeling better, and if his body cooperates, Clint Barton could be back on the rooftops sooner than later.
Where things stand
- Season 1 of Hawkeye hit Disney+ in 2021. Since then? Quiet.
- In early 2023, Renner had that brutal snowplow accident and came out of it with 38 broken bones. The fact he’s even talking about suiting up again is kind of wild.
- Marvel did approach him about a return, but he turned down their first offer because it was half of what he made before. Inside baseball, sure, but also: fair point.
- He hasn’t shut the door. Renner says talks for a second season are very much alive and he’s into it, with one big caveat: his recovery has to be far enough along to actually do the job.
- At Florida Supercon (via Popverse), he said he loved getting to play Hawkeye in a more grounded space and that there’s still a lot of character stuff he wants to do. Physically, he’s making real progress, but he needs more time to get back into arrow-slinging, roll-and-dive shape.
- He also made it clear there have already been a bunch of discussions about what a Season 2 would look like. The timing comes down to two things: his body being ready and Marvel actually wanting to push go.
"I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking. I’m happy to do season two of Hawkeye. I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do."
So… how likely is this?
The vibe is optimistic, not official. Renner sounds onboard if the deal makes sense and his rehab keeps trending up. Marvel seems interested enough to keep talking and workshop the season’s shape, which is more than you can say for a lot of projects in limbo.
Also worth noting: he’s not pretending the physical side doesn’t matter. He says he’s doing good, but he knows Hawkeye is a stunt-heavy job. No one wants a comeback that he can’t perform at full speed.
Bottom line: if Marvel’s plan lines up with his timeline — and there’s still audience heat for it — Season 2 feels possible, maybe even probable. Just don’t call it greenlit yet.
Until then, Hawkeye Season 1 is still sitting on Disney+ if you want a refresher on where Clint (and Kate Bishop) left off.
