Katherine Heigl's character has many wonderful traits, but being polite is definitely not one of them.

Ever since the ABC series Grey's Anatomy premiered way back in 2005, viewers have enjoyed delving into the professional and personal lives of talented doctors, loving or hating them. Characters such as Meredith Grey or Cristina Yang enjoy almost universal love and support from the fandom, but some doctors turned out to be more polarizing to say the least.

One of the best examples of this is Izzie Stevens, some fans love her to bits while others just hate her.

One of the original interns from the pilot episode, Izzie spent six seasons on the show, constantly causing fans to question her abilities and personality.

Although she is undoubtedly a talented doctor, people still believe that her personality constantly interferes with her professional career. Izzie is often referred to as one of the most insensitive characters on the show, as she is constantly sticking her nose in other people's business, giving unnecessary advice or reacting violently to things that do not concern her at all.

Fans on Reddit were quick to recall how offended Izzie was when she found out that Derek and Meredith were officially together, even though the information had nothing to do with her. People were also outraged that Izzie was sad that Meredith was much closer to Cristina than to her. Who would have thought, right?

And that's not all – many fans believe that Izzie judged her patients, pressuring them to do things they never wanted to do.

In one episode, she told a teenage mother to give her newborn daughter up for adoption because she didn't think the girl could take care of her properly. Even though her heart was in the right place, Izzie had no right to even suggest such a thing, let alone put pressure on her patient.

Despite this, Izzie still has a lot of people defending her: some fans claim that Izzie's fierce character made her a great doctor, though it spoiled her personal life a bit. Izzie has always given herself completely to her work, and this has sometimes made her do things that could be described as insensitive. But that didn't make her a bad person, it just made her very difficult to love.
