Time to cash out: HBO’s fan-favorite finance drama is closing its books for good.

Industry is making one last trade. HBO has ordered a fifth season, and that will be the end. If you have been sleeping on this show while it quietly sharpened itself into a buzzsaw, now is the time to catch up.

The endgame is official

Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay say they have been planning for a proper sendoff and want to close on a high. Their note to fans had a couple of lines worth saving:

'Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.'

'Seeing the HBO ident in front of our work will never stop being a thrill.'

They also shout out the cast and crew and hint they intend to keep making TV with HBO after Industry wraps.

Season 4: all gas, no brakes

The current run has been the show at full swagger. Harper Stern (Myha'la) breaks off to run her own fund. Yasmin (Marisa Abela) is trapped in the undertow of Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington). And there is a nasty knife fight between Pierpoint, the old-school bank where most of these sharks cut their teeth, and Tender, a corrupt fintech angling to erase the banks entirely.

  • Season 4 global viewing is pacing about 30% ahead of Season 3; in the U.S., episodes are averaging 1.7 million viewers across platforms and climbing.
  • Down and Kay have written most episodes from the jump, and in Season 4 they also directed several, which you can feel in the confidence of the storytelling.
  • If the upswing holds, this could be one of those late-bloom runs that catches fire at the finish. Think the final-season surge that supercharged Breaking Bad, or the way Succession peaked as it crossed the line.

So when do we get the finale season?

Industry debuted in 2020 and has come back roughly every two years. If that rhythm holds, the fifth and final season would land in 2028. There is a chance HBO speeds things up: the network has been pushing some series onto a yearly cadence lately (see The Pitt and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms). With Season 4 airing early in 2026 and the next one being the grand goodbye, 2027 is in play if they prioritize it. Official date: still under wraps.

Immediate business

The Season 4 finale, 'Both, And,' drops Sunday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m. EST, an hour earlier than usual, on HBO and HBO Max. Clear the slot. If this team sticks the landing, the show gets the victory lap it has earned.
