It might be time for Swift to top her iconic Met Gala look.

The Met Gala 2023 is just around the corner, and celebrities and fashion houses are putting together their best and craziest costumes to honor the iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld.

This year's attendees are being kept under wraps, but fans around the world are certainly hoping for Taylor Swift's epic comeback.

Last year, Swifties were once again disappointed to see their favorite singer miss the event's red carpet for the sixth year in a row. Swift made her Met Gala debut in 2008 and stopped attending on a high note after her triumph in 2016. The star's 2016 outfit made it into the event's history and is definitely her wildest look yet.

Back in 2016, the theme of the Met Gala was 'Manus X Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology,' and Swift was the co-chair. Anna Wintour explained her choice of co-chair by citing Taylor's 'connection to technology.' And Swift didn't disappoint — her robotic wild look wowed everyone in the audience that night.

Louis Vuitton made a sexy custom mini dress for the celebrity that was all silver and snakeskin with black detailing. Swift paired it with strappy black heels, silver rings, platinum blonde hair, and deep plum lipstick, which was a far cry from what the artist usually wears. Her look certainly turned heads and helped Swift have one of the most important nights of her life. In fact, that night has been immortalized twice by her songs.

On the night, Swift had a legendary dance battle with Tom Hiddleston and met her future boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. This fateful meeting is referenced in Taylor's song 'Dress.'

'Flashback when you met me, your buzz cut and my hair bleached,' she sang.

Not only that, but Swift has also tapped into her wild look in her latest album.

'And I chose you, the one I was dancin' with in New York, no shoes,' she sings in 'Maroon,' referencing either the dance battle with Hiddleston or meeting Alwyn.

The star apparently decided not to return to the Met Gala after that triumphant night. But now that Swift and Alwyn have reportedly broken up, maybe it's time for the star to make an epic comeback and top her iconic 2016 look — and perhaps meet a new suitor?

The Met Gala will be held on May 1, 2023, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Cable viewers can watch the event on either NBC or E! beginning at 6:30 p.m. EST.

For others, the event will be live-streamed on Vogue's website and digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
