Is There a Chance NeNe Leakes Will Come Back to Real Housewives?

Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is now on the air, and fans are glad to see the beloved cast members return to give us heaps of drama and laughter in this new installment. But don't you think someone is missing?

'I have arrived and the spotlight is on me, honey!' Yes, we're talking about NeNe Leakes. No star seems to have shone as brightly on RHOA as Leakes. Sadly, she hasn't been invited back to the show since the beef with Bravo.

The scandal included Leakes accusing her co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann of racism and suing executive producer Andy Cohen, Bravo, and NBCUniversal. And while the conflict seems to have died down, NeNe has clearly been blacklisted. But is there any chance she may still come back?

The star's fans suggested that Leakes could be featured on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, a spin-off devoted to contestants from different series of The Real Housewives franchise. The bottom line is that the show is owned by Peacock, but things are not that simple here either.

'Peacock is a different company from Bravo and they can do different things being a streaming channel vs a basic cable channel, and because they have different people in control,' one Redditor explains, 'But people forget that they are both under NBCUniversal.'

Leakes' claims were primarily about NBC's policies, and neither NBC nor Bravo want to be associated with her anymore. However, if there is fan demand for NeNe to reappear on the series, they will likely close their eyes to the conflict and claim it's a thing of the past.

Any network or TV show is primarily focused on their ratings, and in the case of NeNe Leakes returning to Real Housewives, NBCUniversal wouldn't want to disappoint their viewers and lose lots of money as a result.

Some people also cite the case of Will Smith, saying that after slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, everyone thought the actor's career would be over. However, Smith doesn't seem to be suffering professionally, and his film Emancipation was released on Apple TV+ after the scandal. So how is NeNe worse than him?

NeNe Leakes was an enjoyable presence during her time on the show, and many fans would love to see the flamboyant housewife return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta or one of the series' spin-offs.

Meanwhile, the RHOA epic continues into the new season. The next episode of Season 15 will air on May 21, 2023.
