Disney Plus is currently streaming the third season of The Mandalorian. Season 4 is already said to be in development.

From the very beginning, Din Djarin has been portrayed by Pedro Pascal. But given that the character is masked most of the time, it is unclear if the Mandalorian is actually played by Pascal.

What's more, the Disney Plus series is high in intense action scenes. So you won't probably be surprised that Pedro Pascal is only one of the few people behind the beloved character.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pedro Pascal didn't conceal the fact that he's but one of the three people wearing the Mandalorian armor on set. According to the actor, the suit restricts movement. But its most important part is the vision-impairing helmet. It is worn by Din Djarin almost perpetually which makes recording of dialogs impossible. This is why they are recorded by Pascal after the filming.

On set, however, the Mandalorian is a collaborative effort of Pedro Pascal and two stuntmen: Lateef Crowder, whom Pascal worked with on another project, and Brendan Wayne.

The two stunt actors are responsible for the action work the Star Wars movies usually brim with. It's pretty much action considering Din Djarin's craft of bounty hunting. In fact, in some episodes it was never Pascal behind the Mandalorian's mask.

As Crowder and Wayne "do the heavy lifting" on the set of The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal said, he gave the character his specific physical traits and movements that brought him to life.

Since his character is masked and voiceless, Pascal's presence isn't necessarily required. So, the actor is often absent from the set. Season 1 episode "Sanctuary" was shot without Pedro Pascal at all as he was doing King Lear on Broadway. But as he later said, he had been on set during the first season more often than during the second.

There are questions raised about how much of Pedro Pascal we actually see in season 3 of The Mandalorian. If we take into account that the filming of the Disney Plus series overlapped with that of The Last of Us and that the third season is full of action, we cannot be sure it's really Pascal behind the bounty hunter's mask.
