Be careful, contestants, or Bruce will 'have to come get you.'

Ahoy, fellow castaways! In less than two weeks, the 45th season of the reality competition Survivor will hit our screens. CBS officially announced the list of contestants on September 6, and many of you surely have been studying their biographies to analyze their chances of surviving to the end!

It's not easy to predict, of course, because things can take unexpected turns. But what we did know in advance was that Survivor 44 contestant Bruce Perreault would be returning to the show. How is he feeling now and how determined is he to win this season?

Long-awaited comeback

Survivor 44 was a disappointing experience for the then 46-year-old insurance agent from Warwick, R.I. In the first episode, Bruce hit his head during the challenge while attempting to swim under the beam, causing paramedics to evacuate him for fear of an intracranial hemorrhage.

However, it was Jeff Probst himself who fought for Bruce's return to the show.

'I don't think Bruce got his fair share of Survivor,' the host said on his podcast. 'So, here's the announcement. We are officially inviting Bruce to play Survivor again. First player of the new era invited back. It's kind of exiting. It just felt like the right call.'

Does it feel different?

'Listen, I'm suffering just like they're suffering,' Perreault said when asked by EW if the experience was different for the new season. 'I'm suffering like I did on 44, where I sleep in tent city, and the humidity that's here, and the hurry-up-and-wait mentality that we have going on right now. This is a part of the process. So the only difference would be just me looking at people and trying to learn them as I tried to learn the people in 44.'

Towards victory

'The moment we go to sleep, this is now a brand-new game to me because that's all that I know. I know up until that point of time where it's almost time to go to bed. That's it,' Bruce shared, talking about his own chances of winning, his confidence, and how his knowledge will affect the other contestants. 'So foraging for food, making sure the shelter's right, keeping the fire going — I haven't had any of those conversations yet. So I'll explain that to them. And if they want to buy in on that, then buy in on that. And if they don't, I might have to come get you.'

We wish Bruce the best of luck this season as he has a good chance of winning. Survivor 45 will premiere on September 27th on CBS.
