InsiderGaming reports nine new modes are queued for Battlefield 6 post-launch, signaling EA’s rapid-fire content blitz to cement the franchise’s biggest entry yet.

Quick pit stop in the gaming lane: Battlefield 6 is apparently gearing up to dump a whole bunch of new modes on us. If EA really wants this one to be the biggest Battlefield yet, a steady drip-feed of toys is the only way that actually happens. And right now, the drip looks more like a hose.

"At least 9 new game modes for Battlefield 6 are in development."

That line comes from InsiderGaming, which says nine modes are being built for post-launch updates. This stacks on top of what dataminers already pulled out of the files earlier this year.

How we got to nine

Previously, folks digging through Battlefield 6 files found six unused modes hiding in there: Raid, Payload, Sabotage, Squad Shootout, Strikepoint, and Tank Hunt. The developers later confirmed two of those for the Season 1 roadmap: Strikepoint and Sabotage. Strikepoint already went live on October 28, 2025. Sabotage is next.

Now here’s the new bit: five more modes popped up in the game’s prototype directory, which is basically the workbench where they park ideas in various states of done. The entries reference the project codename, Glacier (that’s Battlefield 6), and point to these mode names: Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War.

Yes, one of them is literally called Fantastic Four. No, that does not mean you’re getting a Marvel crossover. It reads like a placeholder or a cute internal label, but it’s in the files. Between those five and the four unconfirmed leftovers from the original six, that’s your nine modes currently in development for post-launch.

So what’s actually next?

Sabotage is the next confirmed mode on deck, landing November 18, 2025. It’s bundled with a surprisingly chunky update that also adds:

  • Rodeo, a new mission for the Gauntlet mode
  • Portal Sandbox, a creation tool for Portal mode
  • Eastwood, a new map
  • Golf Cart, a new vehicle
  • Battlefield Pickups, a new feature in Battlefield RedSec
  • DB-12, a new shotgun
  • M357 Trait, a new sidearm

When do the nine hit?

Officially, nothing beyond Sabotage is locked in. Unofficially, the expectation floating around is early 2026 for at least some of these new modes. Until EA or the Battlefield team says it out loud, treat that as likely but not guaranteed.

File-nerd footnote, if you enjoy the nitty-gritty: those newly spotted modes live under the Glacier MP prototypes folder, which is why this is more than just wishful thinking. When things show up there, they’re being built, even if the finish line is still a ways off.

Gunmaster returning would be a crowd-pleaser, Convoy and Tug of War sound like they could shake up the playlist, and I’m morbidly curious what Fantastic Four actually is. Either way, we’ll see which one gets the nod after Sabotage drops on the 18th.
