Hulu Doubles Down: King of the Hill Scores Seasons 16 and 17

Hulu is firing up the propane again: King of the Hill has been renewed for seasons 16 and 17 after its hit comeback.
Fire up the grill: Hulu is keeping King of the Hill going for a while. The streamer just locked in two more seasons of the revival, which means we are not done with Arlen by a long shot.
What Hulu just greenlit
Hulu has renewed King of the Hill for Seasons 16 and 17. Each season will run 10 episodes. Combined with the already-announced Season 15, that guarantees at least three more batches of episodes on the way.
How the rollout looks
- 2023: Hulu ordered 20 new episodes of King of the Hill
- Season 14: The first 10 of those episodes arrived with the revival in August 2025
- Season 15: The remaining 10 from that order are set to air sometime in 2026
- Seasons 16 and 17: Newly ordered, 10 episodes apiece; Hulu has not shared release dates yet
A quick refresher
The original King of the Hill premiered in 1997 and ran 13 seasons before wrapping in 2009. Hulu brought it back this year with Season 14, and the core cast returned: series co-creator Mike Judge along with Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, Toby Huss, and Jonathan Joss.
Voice cast shuffle you might notice
There were some changes behind the mic during the revival. After Johnny Hardwick passed away during production, the show adjusted a few roles: Toby Huss, who originally voiced Kahn Souphanousinphone, is voicing Joseph Gribble in the new run, while Ronny Chieng stepped in to voice Kahn. As for John Redcorn, portrayed by Jonathan Joss for years, Hulu has not announced plans for the character in Season 15 or beyond.
What the revival is about
The new season leans into Hank and Peggy finding their footing back in present-day Arlen, while Bobby chases a chef career at a fusion restaurant. It is very much the Hill family trying to make sense of the world now, one propane-fueled day at a time.
One more thing
To mark the renewal, Hulu put out a short teaser nodding to the next two seasons. No footage reveal, but a clear message: more Hill family stories are coming.
