Fans are still offended by the way the writers treated Howard's relationship with his half-brother.

The CBS series The Big Bang Theory became a global sensation when it premiered in 2007, as the idea of making nerds the main characters of a sitcom was unheard of at the time.

The story of four young scientists and their perfectly normal roommate became fertile ground for the development of some interesting storylines, with fans enjoying weekly fixes of nerds trying to act like normal people. And while all the main characters had a chance to develop over the course of the series, many fans still regret that some promising storylines turned into complete train wrecks.

One of these stories was about Howard Wolowitz, one of the show's best-loved main characters.

Family has always played a huge role in Howard's life and the relationship with his mother was one of the biggest jokes in the series.

So, when Howard unexpectedly met his half-brother Josh for the first time in his life, fans were sure that this character would take a huge place in Howard's life. Unfortunately, this was not to be.

For some inexplicable reason, the entire storyline with Josh was cut short after just one episode, rendering the whole idea of Howard having a half-brother completely useless.

People still regret the missed potential of this storyline, as even one episode was enough for Josh to prove himself as a fascinating and interesting supporting character. The reason why the writers decided to let Josh go after just one episode is still unclear to fans.

The very idea of two versions of Howard appearing frequently in the same episode was ridiculous to fans, who were eagerly awaiting the return of the favorite character only to realize that this storyline was already over.

People have argued that in the latter parts of The Big Bang Theory, Howard suffered from insufficient character development compared to the other main characters, and his half-brother Josh would have been the best way to remedy that.
