Did you know that all of the American Horror Story stories are interconnected, creating an overarching universe?

Nearly 12 years after the premiere of Season 1 and less than a year after the release of Season 11, American Horror Story is set to return to FX on August 1, 2023. That gives all die-hard fans and new viewers two full months to binge-watch Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's show.

If you are ready to spend 55 hours of your time immersed in the horror, suspense, and all-around creepiness of the anthology horror series in preparation for the new season, we are here to provide valuable guidance.

While each season of American Horror Story is designed to be a standalone, blood-curdling story that doesn't require knowledge of the other seasons to enjoy, there are some little details and easter eggs that appear in different chapters that tie them together. So watching all eleven released seasons in chronological order of the timeline in which they were set can give both new viewers and longtime fans a new and interesting perspective on the American Horror Story universe.

The upcoming star-studded twelfth season, titled American Horror Story: Delicate, will be the first to be based on a book. The thriller novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine tells the story of a woman who desperately wants to have a baby, but feels a mysterious, sinister presence preventing her from doing so.

While the story serves as a timely critique of sexism in modern medicine, it is set in the present day, which will likely put it at the bottom of our list.
