How Prince William & Prince Harry Really Feel About Camilla Becoming the Queen
They never wanted his father to marry again, according to Prince Harry's Spare.
The last couple of years were tough for the Royal family, which couldn't but have an adverse effect on the strained relationship between King Charles III's sons.
However, there seems to be one thing the royal brothers still see eye to eye on.
First, a racism scandal around Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle and the couple leaving the palace to live in the US, then their interview with Oprah Winfrey making the Windsors look rather unseemly — these events have soured Princes William and Harry's relationship very much.
The two became so distant in fact that when Harry's memoirs were published a couple of months ago, the Prince of Wales didn't care much about what his little brother had to say.
It seems that the royal brothers will give each other nothing but a cold shoulder during King Charles III's coronation this May, but they both will definitely be none too glad about Camilla being crowned as Queen Consort alongside their father.
The tragedy surrounding the death of Princess Diana, Princes William and Harry's mother, still haunts the family, reflecting poorly on the brothers' and especially King Charles' public image. The then Prince of Wales' affair with Camilla, his subsequent divorce from Diana, and the new marriage shook the monarchy and the lives of two little boys, William and Harry.
And though many years have passed and Camilla has found her place in the family, it's likely that the royal brothers would prefer their late mother to be deservedly crowned instead of their father's new wife.
'They are likely feeling a little wobbly about it,' Ingrid Seward, the author of The Queen & Di: The Untold Story told People.
In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry writes that he and William were happy for their father but still did not want him to marry Camilla, which implies that the brothers wouldn't want to see Charles' wife as Queen Consort. Harry goes on to accuse his stepmother of leaking details of private conversations to the press, and this aggravates their relationship even further.
Prince William remains rather calm about Camilla's crowning, not voicing any concerns or objections about it — and that's hardly surprising, considering that he is Charles' eldest son and next in line to the throne. However, it's most likely that the Prince of Wales is not overly happy with Camilla becoming the Queen and, like his brother Harry, would rather like their late mother to take her place.
