How Much Did Britney Spears Pay Her Lawyers to Get the Conservatorship Terminated?
Britney is free now, but at what cost?
In 2021, the whole world stood by Britney Spears as she tried to finally get rid of her father Jamie's control over her life. The pop singer's father got a hold of her assets and life a while back, using conservatorship to keep Britney under control and citing her legal and mental problems as the reason.
However, the star tried to revoke the conservatorship by suing her father, and while Britney succeeded and became a free woman again, it looks like she spent quite a bit of money on legal fees.
According to some sources, Britney Spears has paid her lawyer Mathew Rosengart $4,201,856 in the past couple of years, and that number has actually risen to $6 million in the last few months. Of course, the star can afford such expenses since her estate is hers alone after all, but it appears that Britney's team decided to speak openly with Rosengart and force the lawyer to do the right thing for the singer.
While the conservatorship case is over, the case against Jamie Spears is still open and Rosengart and his team are working on it. After a pushback from Britney's team, Rosengart agreed to work pro bono for the singer, and she will not pay him a single penny for the case against her father.
'He seems like a good guy who has her best interest at heart. But also, if they succeed in unraveling what happened here this case really bolsters his firm's reputation and his own reputation as well. I know they are already well established but it's a major piece of legal press and a good draw for other clients,' one fan said about Rosengart.
Fans are really happy that the esteemed lawyer decided to put his friendship with Britney ahead of money, as the singer is clearly struggling to spend so much on her legal problems while supporting herself and her family.
Of course, even if Rosengart doesn't earn anything from the ongoing case, he will clearly gain a great deal of respect from his colleagues and Spears' fans, making him an even more respected professional in the process.
