The actor seems slightly taken aback by the announcements.

Last month, HBO Max shocked the world by announcing plans to produce a Harry Potter reboot series, once again welcoming viewers into J. K. Rowling's magical universe. Understandably, fans of the original films were somewhat surprised by the idea, arguing that the original films were not old enough to warrant a reboot. However, as we all know, Hollywood has a penchant for profit, and it was only a matter of time before such a lucrative franchise was revived.

But what do the actors involved in the original movies think about it?

Although Joseph Fiennes never appeared in the Harry Potter films, his brother Ralph portrayed Lord Voldemort in the franchise. This has led many fans to speculate whether HBO might attempt to recruit Joseph for the upcoming series, possibly offering him his brother's role. Joseph seems open to auditioning for the part, albeit with some reservations about the entire project.

‘You know I'm trying to find that piece of makeup and that eye thing again, maybe I need that for an audition. I don't know. I just heard that recently and it's great. It feels like it was only yesterday. I don't know why we have to reinvent everything. But I guess this is what happens,’ Fiennes remarked.

While Joseph remains uncertain about HBO's decision to reimagine something so recent, he believes the television format is far better suited for a sprawling story like Harry Potter. Spending more time with Harry and his friends will greatly help develop authentic chemistry between the characters.

‘The structure of television now It's so brilliant and sophisticated, and the map is just wide open. It allows that material to be reexamined and take the viewers in a different direction or open up pockets that they wouldn't have imagined they would have the time to see in a cinema. So, I think, actually, television's really exciting in that way,’ Fiennes added.

So, it seems that Joseph might follow in his older brother's footsteps and become a significant figure in the upcoming HBO Max Harry Potter reboot. Fingers crossed!
