Honkai: Star Rail vaults into Version 3.7 As Tomorrow Became Yesterday with Currency Wars, a permanent endgame mode unveiled in the October 24, 2025 Special Program. Expect a deeper loop that syncs with Simulated Universe, fresh point rewards, and a rolling schedule to keep the grind moving.

Honkai: Star Rail is about to shake up its endgame again. Version 3.7 is called 'As Tomorrow Became Yesterday,' and the headline is a new permanent mode called Currency Wars that basically turns team-building into a strategy puzzle with actual stakes. It goes live November 4, 2025 in North America (UTC-5) and November 5, 2025 in Europe and Asia.

Currency Wars: what it is and why it matters

Currency Wars is a new sandbox-style mode designed to live alongside the rest of the endgame. Think resource economy meets combat sandbox: you build out a 10-character roster for each run, but only four take the field at a time. The other six backliners aren’t just benchwarmers; they provide off-field support bonuses that can seriously change how you approach synergy and rotations.

The mode layers in special 'Bond' effects that trigger when certain characters are paired, tapping into things like their element, faction, or shared traits. Characters also gain mode-exclusive abilities that only work inside Currency Wars, so even familiar units might play differently here. Firefly is getting fresh skill animations just for this, which is a fun flex. Best of all, you can use both your owned units and trial characters, so everyone gets access to the full roster of 61 characters at launch, whether you’ve pulled them or not.

Rewards, rotation, and rankings

HoYoverse is slotting Currency Wars into the endgame rotation by alternating its rewards with Simulated Universe. That should keep the treadmill from feeling stale week to week. Currency Wars pays out Stellar Jades, Self-Modeling Resin, Tracks of Destiny, Credits, and some mode-specific goodies like Variable Dice and Lost Crystals. There will be weekly and seasonal point-based rankings tied to its scoring, so expect a chase structure on top of the usual rewards.

Story: Amphoreus finale and new places to poke around

Outside the mode, 3.7 is also the closing chapter for the Amphoreus arc. The Astral Express teams up with the Chrysos Heirs to take on Irontomb, and you’ll get new areas to explore: The Demiurge and Ruins of Time. Straightforward enough: big confrontation, fresh maps, plot threads tied off.

Who’s on the banners

Cyrene leads the charge as a new 5-star Ice character on the Path of Remembrance. Her kit is all about amplifying team damage and dropping True DMG bursts via a signature field effect. Build up her Recollection gauge and her Ultimate sets off every ally’s Ultimate at once, which is exactly as explosive as it sounds.

She’s joined by more 5-star headliners in the first phase: Tribbie, Hyacine, and Castorice. The second phase reruns Phainon, Mydei, and Cipher. If you’re hunting for gear, two new Planar Ornament sets are also in: Amphoreus: The Eternal Land and Tengoku@Livestream.

Events and a free 5-star pick

Limited-time events are back. Snack Dash is a lighter minigame where Ruan Mei’s creations race through obstacle courses. Gifts of Odyssey and Relic Recon are reward events handing out resources and materials. The big freebie is the Golden Companion Spirit Token, which you can redeem for one 5-star character between Version 3.7 and 4.0. Your choices: Luocha, Ruan Mei, or Topaz & Numby.

The takeaway

Currency Wars looks like a smart twist on HSR’s endgame: bigger squad-building, off-field strategy, mode-exclusive tweaks, and an alternating reward loop with Simulated Universe to keep things moving. Add a flashy new 5-star in Cyrene, the Amphoreus wrap-up, and a free 5-star token, and 3.7 is a meaty patch. If you like tinkering with comps (and min-maxing point ladders), this one’s built for you.
