Beastars Season 3 Part 2—the final chapter of the hit anime based on a manga that sold millions of copies—hits Netflix next month, capping a fan-favorite run with strong scores on major review sites.

Beastars is almost at the finish line. Netflix is rolling out the final batch of episodes next month, and yes, the carnivore-vs-herbivore drama is still very much the point.

When and where

Beastars Season 3 Part 2 starts streaming on Netflix on Saturday, March 7, 2026. This is the back half of the show’s final season.

What Beastars is about

Based on Paru Itagaki's manga, the series takes place in a world of anthropomorphic animals split between carnivores and herbivores. At the center is Legoshi, a reserved gray wolf at Cherryton Academy, trying to manage his instincts while a series of brutal murders shakes the school.

How we got here

Season 1 premiered on October 10, 2019 and landed strong notices: a 94% critics score and an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The follow-up seasons kept that momentum, and the show picked up nominations for its animation, theme song, screenplay, and voice acting. The first two seasons ran weekly in 2019 and 2021, 12 episodes each.

After a three-year gap, the studio confirmed in early 2024 that the manga’s final stretch would be adapted in two parts. Season 3 Part 1 hit Netflix with 12 episodes on December 5, 2024. Netflix has not announced how many episodes are in Part 2 yet; given the pattern so far, 12 feels like a safe bet.

The manga run

Itagaki’s manga debuted on September 8, 2016 in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion and wrapped on October 8, 2020 after 192 chapters collected across 22 tankobon volumes. By late 2021, it had reportedly sold over 7.5 million copies, according to the author on X (formerly Twitter). A stage play was in development but was canceled in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
