A breakout Netflix docuseries could return for Season 2 — but 50 Cent says it may skip the streamer and drop on YouTube instead, teasing the twist during a visit to daytime talk show Sherri.

So this is a twist: Netflix has a hit docuseries on its hands, and its executive producer is already floating the idea of… dropping the next part on YouTube. Casual.

What 50 Cent actually said

On a recent stop by the daytime talk show Sherri, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson talked about Netflix's docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning. He did not announce a Season 2. What he did do was tease that a follow-up could land somewhere other than Netflix, basically because there was a lot he had to cut the first time around, including material about some of Combs' other relationships.

"Or I just put it on YouTube."

That was his response when Sherri nudged that all the trimmed stuff sounds like Season 2 material. He delivered it like a joke, but it's a pretty pointed joke. Unusual move to hint at a platform pivot when the show is already humming on Netflix, but it is very on-brand for him.

Where things stand

To be clear: no official Season 2 has been announced. Jackson kept specifics light, but he did say the docuseries has exceeded his expectations, even though he already thought it would be big. Since the show premiered, he says more people have been willing to speak up, which makes him think there is more story to tell.

Why the series hit so hard

Sean Combs: The Reckoning is a four-part docuseries about the sexual misconduct allegations against Combs. It was a massive performer for Netflix, pulling 21.8 million views in its first six days. Given that kind of heat, hearing the executive producer even joke about dropping future material on YouTube is a notable flex.
