Spin-off writers are often under a lot of pressure to keep the stories they write true to the source material.

If they don't, the fans will rant and rave about every single inaccuracy. The Big Bang Theory fandom is no exception when it comes to certain characters of its little brother, Young Sheldon.

Paige is definitely the character that raises a lot of questions. She is another young prodigy on the show who is both a friend and a rival to Sheldon. Their relationship is complicated, but she seems to be an integral part of young Sheldon. However, she is never mentioned by the adult Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory.

And fans have obviously wondered why the spin-off has been on the screen for the entire six seasons.

Which Young Sheldon Child Actor is the Richest?

While neither the show nor Paige's story is over, there is already speculation as to why we don't hear from her in the parent series. One logical explanation is that she was never a close friend of Sheldon's or of any real value to him. That's why he never mentions her as an adult. In fact, Dr. Sturgis is a much more influential figure in Sheldon's life, but he's never mentioned in TBBT.

Some fans on Reddit suggest that Paige will break up with the Coopers.

Some of the more interesting ideas include Paige will go back to school and live a normal life, free from the pressure of being a genius. As a rebellious teenage delinquent, Paige may get in trouble with the police and be arrested. This will ruin her life as an aspiring scientist and take her out of Sheldon's sight.

Some people think that Paige's mother won't be able to handle her anymore and will send her off to study in another country, where she will eventually settle down. It doesn't have to affect her negatively. She'll just have a different life.

"Maybe she ends up working in Switzerland and Sheldon is so jealous he wipes her from his mind," wrote Redditor GrannyMine.

But there's a more plausible explanation. Both Paige and Dr. Sturgis were conceived as characters after The Big Bang Theory ended, and simply had zero chance making it into the original series. Despite their fleeting appearance in Sheldon's life, they are wonderful characters who add life and color to the plot.
