Here's Why Blue Bloods Fans Are So Against Daez Ship
Fans are still against the controversial ship.
Without a doubt, CBS' Blue Bloods is one of the most popular prime-time cop shows on the air right now, and rightly so - instead of focusing on weekly crime cases, the writers bet on creating chemistry between all the members of the Reagan family, and they succeeded. Fans watch Blue Bloods to follow the development of the main characters, not to see who killed someone or robbed the bank, and this fact has allowed the show to be a hit for thirteen consecutive years.
However, fans still have some issues with the writers, as some of the decisions they make not only seem illogical, but can actually ruin some of the beloved characters.
A controversial ship
Needless to say, Donny Wahlberg's Danny Reagan is one of the most compelling characters on Blue Bloods, as his tough work ethic is perfectly matched with his caring behavior towards his family and friends. It's no wonder, then, that the scenes in which Danny spends time with Marisa Ramirez's Maria Baez are some of the most exciting the show has to offer, as the chemistry between the two is off the charts.
However, even though Danny and Maria look perfect as a professional couple, some fans hate the idea of two of them starting to date, and it looks like the writers are setting up this plot twist for the upcoming season 14. While Danny and Maria will certainly look great as a couple, fans feel that such a development will ruin their respective storylines, as both of them have been independent people for most of their time on the show.
'The show doesn't need another professional-partners-turned-romantic-partners storyline. That's just lazy, recycled writing and it would be pandering to fans of the show. As much as I've enjoyed the show from the beginning, I'm content with the 13 seasons we've had, and I'd rather it not come back from the strike delays and/or simply end outright than to have Danny and Baez become a couple,' a fan said.
Yeah, it looks like if the writers decide to make Daez a reality in the upcoming season, the fans will just boycott the show.
