Obsession soundtracks are our new obsession.

Fresh from the oven, the thriller short series Obsession began streaming on Netflix last week and has already attracted a dedicated following.

This four-episode miniseries tells the story of a renowned surgeon, played by Richard Armitage, who falls in love and becomes obsessed – hence the title – with his son's girlfriend, portrayed by Charlie Murphy.

The steamy storyline, abundant sexual tension, and unexpected twists and turns in the plot are accentuated by the music used in the series.

Many viewers have noted that Obsession's original soundtrack features some truly seductive and addictive tracks. It is easy to fall under their spell and listen incessantly. The choice of music is undoubtedly something the show's creators deserve high praise for.

This was already evident in the trailer released before the premiere. It is set to Dream A Lot's cover of Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out of My Head, which creates a mystical, tense, and seductive atmosphere for everything happening on screen.

Let's list the tracks from Obsession's OST that you probably won't be able to quit listening to once you hear them.

Episode 1

This episode introduces viewers to the Farrow family, led by Armitage's character, William. It is also where William first meets his future obsession, Anna Barton, and the two fall into their steamy romance. The songs for this episode feature female vocals and perfectly emphasise the episode's atmosphere.

  • Can’t Help Myself – Alexandra Savior
  • Hello Stranger – Barbara Lewis
  • Spellbound – Siouxsie & The Banshees

Episode 2

The episode showcases the bumps in the road of the new romance.

William and Anna's relationship is filled with passionate sex, secrets, jealousy, suspicions, and of course, the magical voices of Barbara Lewis and Esther Phillips.

  • Hello Stranger – Barbara Lewis
  • La Romance De Paris – Charles Trenét
  • Try Me – Esther Phillips

Episode 3

William's son Jay proposes to Anna, and she accepts. This doesn't sit well with William, whose lust for Anna overrides his fatherly love. Everything they do makes the people around them suspicious, especially Jay. The episode features plenty of steamy scenes and equally steamy music.

  • Burning – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
  • Ocean Drive – Duke Dumont
  • Tainted Love – Holy Wars & Nocturn

Episode 4

Jay finally discovers William and Anna's affair and catches them in the act. In disbelief, he falls from the railing to his death. This tragedy changes everything in William and Anna's lives. The theme song is as tragic as the plot.
