Here's the List of Every New Cast Members for Virgin River Season 5
Some familiar faces are joining the Netflix series, but their roles haven't been revealed yet.
It's official. Virgin River Season 5 is coming to Netflix on September 7 of this year, and even before that, the fan-favorite romantic series will begin filming Season 6 in Canada, as usual.
Although fans are a little disappointed with the change in the regular release schedule (Seasons 3 and 4 both premiered in July), they can't wait to catch up with Mel Monroe, Jack Sheridan, and other residents of the idyllic Northern California town.
Judging by the number of newly arrived cast members, we're also going to see a lot of new characters and some fresh plot lines in the upcoming season. Let's take a look at who has landed recurring and one-off roles in Virgin River Season 5:
- Kandyse McClure
- Susan Hogan
- Elise Gatien
- Paolo Maiolo
- Gabrielle Rose
- John Allen Nelson
- Deb Podowski
- Melanie Merkosky
- Brent Fidler
- Serge Houde
- Audré Alleya Stephenson
- Ava Anton as Hazel
- David Stuart as Reporter Ted Ford
- Brad Harder as Adrian
- Helenna Santos as Optical Tech
- Gabrielle Jacinto as Nurse Jill
Kandyse McClure was one of the first to join Virgin River Season 5. Her face will be familiar to viewers of Battlestar Galactica and Netflix's V-Wars. Other major castings include Susan Hogan, known for her work on Legends of Tomorrow, Supernatural's Elise Gatien and Paolo Maiolo, and more. None of their roles have been revealed yet.
The show's creators are keeping most of the new cast members' characters under wraps to avoid spoilers for the upcoming season, and even fans of Robyn Carr's original book series can't tell exactly what will happen in the new installment of Virgin River. So far, only four characters' names have been disclosed — Reporter Ted Ford, Adrian, Optical Tech, and Nurse Jill — but they are all too minor to tell fans anything about the storylines of the new season.
What we can say with some certainty about the Season 5 plot is that the drama surrounding Mel and Charmaine's pregnancies is far from over, and the characters need time to come to terms with last season's big revelation. Also, Vince's arc ended on a huge cliffhanger, and we will find out his fate in the coming episodes. On top of that, all signs point to Barbara Pollard's Melissa Montgomery playing a bigger and more antagonistic role in the upcoming season.
Whether the new cast members will be integrated into these major storylines or be part of their own subplots, fans will have to wait until the fall of 2023 to find out
