Fans seem to dislike Jack Kline not because of his personality but because of his importance to the series.

The CW's hit mystery series Supernatural has been a worldwide phenomenon since its premiere in 2005, when fans were immersed in the struggles of the Winchester brothers and their attempts to save humanity.

Each new week, the series has provided viewers with exciting supernatural foes ranging from ghosts, werewolves and vampires to aliens, angels and even Lucifer himself.

Thanks to a superb cast and intense storytelling, Supernatural was beloved throughout its 15 seasons, with only a few characters causing disappointment and anger among fans – and one of those characters was Jack Kline, Lucifer's son.

Even Jared Padalecki Hated This Questionable Supernatural Storyline

Discussing this polarizing figure online, fans have not failed to note that Jack is a pretty likable character in his own right, and the only reason his personality bothers fans is because of his constant whining when his father stripped him of his powers. So why do fans hate him so much?

The blame for this lies squarely on the shoulders of the writers, as fans were very unhappy with how much attention had been given to Jack since his first appearance in season twelve.

While it was always clear that Lucifer's son had a huge role to play in the Winchester story, people were very disappointed that Dean and Sam were sidelined in favor of the boy's story.

Fans were completely absorbed in Dean and Sam's story and hated that both characters were forced to realign themselves around Jack, making all their problems related to him instead of them.

Supernatural Easter Egg in The Boys Only Eagle-Eyed Fans Noticed

Many fans believe that many of the characters who have appeared in last installments of Supernatural have suffered the same fate – they have been presented as the most important, but the writers have failed to explain why, which has made them annoying and detrimental to the overall narrative of the series.

If Jack's importance had been properly explained to the fandom when he appeared, perhaps fans wouldn't have hated him so much, but the writers mishandled the situation, ruining the narrative arcs of both Jack and the Winchester brothers.
