World Class Sinner foreshadowed the finale of The Idol.

Unfortunately, the miracle didn't happen and HBO's The Idol failed to redeem itself in the eyes of the audience with the last episode that aired on July 2.

The final hour of the show turned out to be as confusing as the rest of it.

At first, everything seemed to be going the way many viewers expected. Jocelyn's eyes were opened to the true nature of Tedros, and she decided to kick him out of her life forever. Chaim did just that and more by exposing Tedros and his past dark deeds to Vanity Fair, so The Weeknd's character seemed to lose everything in the scandal. The big bosses loved Joss' songs and her tour became a sure thing with Chloe, Izaak, and Xander as opening acts.

But that was not the end. When Tedros showed up at Jocelyn's sold-out stadium concert, it turned out that she had left an artist pass for him. When they reunited, the star dragged him onstage and introduced Tedros to the crowd as 'the love of her life,' much to the shock of her crew.

'You're mine, forever,' Jocelyn said before telling Tedros to wait for her backstage.

So does this ending have any bearing on Season 2?

As the lyrics of 'World Class Sinner' suggested all along ('So get down on your knees and get ready to become my bitch'), the tables have been turned and the puppet master is not who you think it was. Jocelyn has been revealed as the manipulative and dominant one in the relationship, and Tedros is one of her pets.

In that sense, the story feels wrapped up. But if the creators and HBO agree to continue, there's nothing to stop them. The music industry is a great subject to explore further, and some storylines in Season 1 felt cut short and could use a continuation.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph, who played Destiny, is certain that Season 2 is coming.

'I think that everyone's intention is to have a second season. This was never intended to be a limited series,' the actress told Variety. 'Nothing is official, but HBO is quite happy.'

Are viewers excited about Season 2 of The Idol? The majority of fan discussions show that they're not. But will they watch the continuation of Jocelyn and Tedros' story? Probably yes. After all, The Idol managed to become one of the biggest hate-watches in recent years.
