Heartstopper Set Video Just Gave Us a Glimpse at Big Season 3 Scene
The season will open with a dramatic and moving scene.
Heartstopper is a UK-produced series, but the strikes by WGA members in the US in May and SAG-AFTRA, which joined them in June, left many worried about whether Season 3 production would begin anytime soon. However, in September, Alice Oseman teased the resumption of work on the show by sharing a photo of the script for the first episode, and then cast members' Instagram accounts shared stories suggesting the actors were present for the first table read.
Fortunately, our fears were unfounded, as filming for the new season officially began in October. Fans familiar with the show know that new developments in Nick and Charlie's love story will be even more touching and sometimes heartbreaking, exploring themes of mental health issues and, of course, acceptance of feelings. In addition, the first footage from the filming of the new season that has appeared online suggests that we can expect some very important scenes from the comic book.

It looks like Season 3 filming has moved to Dorset, as the cast and crew were spotted in the West Country seaside resort of Lyme Regis on Tuesday, October 3. If you look closely, you can even spot the Paris Gang in the middle of the picturesque sandy beach!
Many fans who are familiar with the comics and know what happens after the events of Season 2 were worried that if filming started in October, the 'beach' scene would be omitted — just imagine what it would be like to swim in the cold British sea in October. Luckily, the weather turned out to be pleasant, with the temperature hovering around 18 degrees Celsius (about 64°F).
Why it is important
So why is the beach scene so important to the story? As we know, Season 3 will be built around Volume 4 of the graphic novel (and may touch on events from Volume 5, which is scheduled for release in December 2023).
Aside from the comedic elements that will happen with the gang on the beach, it's the scene where Nick realizes that Charlie has an eating disorder. This moment will be the leitmotif of the coming events, the main message of which is that love cannot cure mental illness, but a loved one can always help and support by being aware.
Also, this scene is supposed to be followed by the long-awaited sequence in which Nick and Charlie will finally find the strength to openly confess their love to each other. Well, we will not give away the details of the scene so as not to spoil your expectations!
