HBO Max whips up a packed week November 3–9, led by Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking Season 2, with The LEGO Ninjago Movie, Beat Bobby Flay Season 39, and new series Materialists joining the lineup.

HBO Max is stuffing the first full week of November with a little bit of everything: buttercream spells, plastic ninjas, cooking show mainstays that simply will not retire, and a shiny new A24 romance. If you like variety, you are very covered.

What jumps out

First up, 'Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking' is back on Monday, November 3 with Season 2. It is exactly what it sounds like: teams of pastry pros and cake artists whipping up Potter-inspired desserts and edible showpieces. If you are into intricate bakes and nostalgia, it is a layup.

Mid-week, Wednesday brings 'The LEGO Ninjago Movie' — a family comedy following Master Builder Lloyd and his friends as they try to stop the warlord Garmadon (also Lloyd's dad, because of course). On Thursday, 'Beat Bobby Flay' returns with Season 39 — yes, thirty-nine — as challengers cook their way to a showdown with Flay. And on Friday, A24 drops 'Materialists,' a romantic drama about a matchmaker torn between her ex and the person who seems perfect on paper.

Elsewhere, Tom Hanks pops in with 'A Man Called Otto' on Thursday, and there are fresh seasons across Food Network, Discovery, Magnolia Network, and more. Also, for the record: 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' is somehow on Season 52. Not a typo.

Couple quirks worth flagging: 'Season 1E' and 'Season 1A' labeling on some kids entries are exactly how they are listed, so yes, that is a thing. And if you are wondering how many culinary competitions one week can hold — between 'Wizards of Baking,' 'Holiday Baking Championship,' 'Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas,' and the Bobby Flay machine — the answer is: a lot.
