Solo Leveling hits turbulence just as hype peaks — recent moves suggest the manhwa squandered its moment and the anime’s big reveal is slipping away, leaving fans bracing for disappointment.

If you follow Solo Leveling, this week is... not ideal. The manhwa sequel just hit pause again, and the anime might be swapping a full Season 3 for a theatrical detour. Great for the big screen, not so great if you wanted a straight path forward.

Ragnarok manhwa taps the brakes (again)

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, the sequel that already wrapped as a webnovel back in July 2025, is still rolling out as a manhwa via D&C Media. It has also been stopping a lot. The latest stall landed right before Chapter 63: D&C announced a two-week break for "work reorganization," with the Korean release now expected to resume on November 26 with Chapter 63.

That is a headache for readers keeping pace in Korea, but there is one upside: the official English release has been lagging behind, and this gives it a little breathing room. The English version sits at Chapter 57 right now, with Chapter 58 scheduled to drop November 15, 2025 on Tapas. English chapters will keep their regular cadence while Korea takes the break, so things should be a bit more aligned by the time Chapter 63 hits.

Anime pivot: Season 3 or a movie instead?

On the anime side, the tea leaves are pointing toward a feature film instead of a straight-up Season 3. A well-circulated post from the Solo Leveling account on X cited reporting that a movie is targeting late 2026, with production not underway yet. Another account sharing similar info is PLUTO_HADEATH. None of this is an official announcement from A-1 Pictures or Aniplex, but the chatter is getting loud.

"A 'SOLO LEVELING' movie is reportedly scheduled for release in the second half of 2026. Production has not yet begun."

Why go theatrical? Money, mostly. Demon Slayer just reminded everyone that event films can print cash (see: Infinity Castle), and studios like A-1 Pictures and distributors like Aniplex pay attention to that kind of math. If Solo Leveling follows that playbook, the movie could pick up the story after Season 2. The catch: that could mean Season 3 is delayed, or never happens in the traditional TV format if the film carries the baton.

  • Ragnarok KR manhwa: two-week hiatus for "work reorganization," returning Nov 26 with Chapter 63
  • Ragnarok English: currently at Chapter 57; Chapter 58 drops Nov 15 on Tapas; English continues on schedule during KR break
  • Anime: multiple reports say a Solo Leveling movie is aiming for late 2026; production has not started; Season 3 status uncertain

Fans are split: some are into the idea of a glossy, big-scope movie; others just want their Season 3 already. Both takes are fair. If the movie happens, expect a long wait simply because production has not even kicked off yet.

For now, Solo Leveling is streaming on Crunchyroll. Think a Solo Leveling film can pull a Demon Slayer and crush at the box office, or would you rather get Season 3 first? Tell me where you land.
