Happy Death Day and 4 Other 5 Best Movies About Time Loops if You Miss Groundhog Day

These movies keep going back to the beginning.
We traditionally save watching Groundhog Day for February 2, the day when Phil Connors went to Pittsburgh to film a story about a groundhog and ended up staying longer than planned.
In the meantime, we offer horror films, romantic comedies, and action films doomed to repeat themselves.
1. The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, 2021
The Map of Tiny Perfect Things that initially strives to adhere to the conventions of teenage romance gradually becomes much more dramatic and sometimes even metaphorical.
Like most time loop films, it encourages us to cherish the present moment. Students Mark and Margaret spend their enchanted eternity searching for small, routine miracles, such as a bird catching a fish in flight.
2. Koko-di Koko-da, 2019
In Koko-di Koko-da, the time loop is taken seriously. A couple who lost their daughter goes to the forest for the weekend with the hope that the atmosphere of a tent, nature, and stars will repair their marriage.
Instead, each morning begins with death: a troupe of wandering artists repeatedly kills sleeping spouses to the sounds of a barrel organ.
3. Palm Springs, 2020
Nyles and Sarah planned to spend a hot weekend at a wedding, take advantage of the open bar, and forget about the celebration by Monday morning.
However, the universe had other plans. The young couple was forced to relive November 19th repeatedly until they finally matured and accepted that all good things must come to an end.
Palm Springs is a typical 2020s romantic comedy. It has more reflection and bitter humor than love at first sight.
4. Boss Level, 2020
Frank Grillo's character is forced to start every morning with gunshots, explosions, and assassination attempts. Between battles, he must learn to use a cold weapon, reconcile with his son, and, ultimately, save the world.
Until then, he is forced to kill and die in increasingly sophisticated ways. To some extent, the time loop repeats the general fatigue of the same type of action scenes where the good guy throws the bad guy into a corner.
5. Happy Death Day, 2017
If Christopher Landon hadn't done it, someone else would have had to combine the repetition of Groundhog Day with the slasher genre – the two were made for each other.
In the case of Happy Death Day, however, a successful combination is only half the equation; the other half is Jessica Rothe's crazy charisma. It is her character who must die again and again on her birthday.
The time loop takes place on a college campus where a masked psychopath roams the nighttime alleys. Happy Death Day is funny, bloody, and touching. Perhaps it is a perfect film for a lazy evening in good company.
