Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Finale Predictions: 5 Possible Character Deaths

It's hard to believe that Grey's Anatomy has been on the air for nearly two decades, yet it continues to rack up numbers that even newer hit shows can't match. The Shonda Rhimes series has lost a ton of characters over the years, but it has also managed to introduce new and compelling ones for fans to follow.

However, with Ellen Pompeo finally leaving Grey's Anatomy, viewers feel that the rest of the cast won't be able to carry the show without the titular character, Meredith Grey. What's more, it looks like the producers are planning to make the situation even worse by killing off one character in the Season 19 finale.

Here are five possible character deaths.

Catherine Fox

Unfortunately, Catherine is the most likely candidate for an untimely demise, as her cancer diagnosis has been a major plot point for quite some time. Fans feel that while other surgeons will travel to Boston for a conference, Catherine will succumb to her illness, making the finale a total heartbreaker.

Miranda Bailey

Miranda has been on the show since the first season, and with Meredith's departure, fans believe that the producers may want to eliminate the old guard all at once and have Miranda die tragically. While the chances of that happening are slim, the possibility is certainly there.

Ben Warren

Even if Miranda survives into the next season, it looks like the writers might hurt her quite badly, possibly killing her firefighter husband Ben. Recently, Ben was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and even though he is doing much better, the disease could come back just in time for the season finale.

Benson Kwan

Grey's Anatomy is notorious for killing off at least one of the interns every time a new batch of newcomers is introduced. With interns Simone and Lucas being developed as the new main characters, it looks like Kwan is in great danger of becoming the show's new sacrificial lamb.

Trey Delgado

Simone's fiancé has already become one of the most disliked characters of Season 19, as he is basically the only reason why Simone and Lucas are still not together. Perhaps the writers will solve this problem once and for all by killing off Trey in the season's final episode.
