Fans can't get over these shows' cancellations.

Like any other business, the television industry is concerned only with ratings and money, so producers cancel projects at their whim even if the shows are popular with niche audiences and raise important issues. Redditors named seven series that were loved by fans but were unfortunately canceled after just one season.

7. A League of Their Own (2022)

Fans were devastated when Amazon recently announced that A League of Their Own would be canceled. Set during WWII, the comedy-drama followed a women's baseball team and featured a number of POC and queer characters, so it's a shame the producers decided to cut the series short.

6. Daybreak (2019)

Successfully blending elements of comedy, teen drama, and horror, Daybreak felt like a fresh take on the zombie genre. In addition to colorful characters and Mad Max-inspired setting, viewers really loved the show's meta humor.

5. I Am Not Okay With This (2020)

The fantasy series starring Sophia Lillis failed to achieve considerable viewership but still has a small and dedicated fan base. These people were utterly heartbroken when Netflix announced the show's cancellation, allegedly due to COVID-19.

4. Wonderfalls (2004)

What do people do when they graduate with a degree in philosophy? Work a dead-end job and talk to stuffed animals! That is exactly what the Wonderfalls protagonist does, working in a souvenir shop and chatting with inanimate animal figures there. The show was just starting to gain momentum when Fox canceled it after four episodes.

3. Pan Am (2011)

Starring Christina Ricci and Margot Robbie, Pan Am centered around pilots and flight attendants of the eponymous airline in the early 1960s. The show is a fascinating mix of Cold War drama and a feminist narrative, with some romance interwoven into the story.

2. Selfie (2014)

The sitcom starring Karen Gillan and John Cho follows a social media enthusiast and her marketing friend who falls in love with her. ABC canceled Selfie after seven episodes, but all 13 episodes are now available on Hulu.

1. Freaks and Geeks (1999)

For many young viewers in the late 90s, Freaks and Geeks was the first sitcom ever. The show was beloved for its humor, excellent portrayal of adolescence, and wonderful acting from the cast, many of whom went on to become Hollywood stars. Unfortunately, the now-iconic show ended after one season due to low ratings because NBC didn't bother to reschedule it for better time slots.
