Goat Trailer: Stranger Things Star Leads Fierce New Film From the Team Behind KPop Demon Hunters
Sony Pictures drops the new trailer for Goat, an all-animal, high-energy animated sports action-comedy that teams Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin with NBA champion Stephen Curry, from the animators behind KPop Demon Hunters.
Sony just dropped a trailer for Goat, an animated sports comedy where a scrappy little goat tries to make it big in a league full of apex predators. Caleb McLaughlin (yep, from Stranger Things) leads the voice cast, with NBA champ Stephen Curry also in the mix. It comes from the animators behind this year’s much-buzzed-about KPop Demon Hunters, which is a fun wrinkle on its own.
The setup
We’re in an all-animal world, and the game of choice is roarball — think basketball, but louder, faster, co-ed, and full-contact. Will is a young Boer goat with more guts than height who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros. His new teammates aren’t exactly thrilled that a small goat just landed a roster spot, but Will’s mission is simple: change the game and prove everyone wrong.
'Smalls can ball!'
What the trailer shows
The footage introduces McLaughlin as Will and wastes no time showing off the arena chaos: high-speed plays, big hits, and the kind of flashy, midair action you want from an animated sports movie. The pitch is clear — if Will can out-think and out-hustle the league’s fastest and fiercest, size won’t matter. It’s the classic underdog sports arc, just with horns and hooves.

Bottom line: Goat is aiming straight for the sports-underdog sweet spot, just filtered through a wild-animal league with rules that barely exist. If the movie keeps the trailer’s energy, it could be a fun one.
