Ghosts Season 3 Will Be Short But Fierce, The Show Star Says
The beloved CBS sitcom will return in the first quarter of 2024 along with the network's other projects.
Summary
- Ghosts was one of the shows affected by this year's strikes.
- CBS has scheduled Season 3 for release in February 2024.
- The third installment will be noticeably shorter than the rest but it will be fascinating.
It's no use crying over spilled milk, but it's still sad that most of our beloved shows didn't return this season due to the writers' and actors' strikes. First, the WGA disrupted work in Hollywood when they went on strike in May. Then, SAG-AFTRA followed suit, bringing the industry to a standstill. As a result, Young Sheldon, Chicago Fire, NCIS and many other shows were put on indefinite hold.
CBS's Ghosts was also affected by the strikes. A remake of the eponymous BBC show, this mystical sitcom premiered in 2021 and went on to become one of the network's flagships. Following its instant success, Ghosts was swiftly renewed for a second season in January 2022. And a year later, Season 3 was commissioned by CBS. Needless to say, production was disrupted by the strikes. But now that they're effectively over, the third installment of the fan-favorite comedy is set to premiere on February 15.
Ghosts Star on What to Expect From Season 3
Since it's been almost a month since the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, actors have been incredibly busy promoting their projects. The cast of Ghosts is no exception. With CBS already announcing a midseason release for the show, fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming third installment of the sitcom. Fortunately, according to one of the show's stars, it's already underway.
'We start shooting on Saturday. I fly down to Montreal. We're going back, baby! We did a table read – those scripts are good!' Danielle Pinnock, who portrays the ghost of Alberta Haynes on the show, revealed in an interview.
According to Pinnock, Season 3 of Ghosts will be significantly shorter than the previous two installments. However, this won't have a negative impact on the show's narrative. On the contrary, the upcoming third season will be packed with events.
'I think we're gonna do only ten episodes this season. Sheila Carrasco [the Flower actress] is having a baby, so we cut the season short because of that and the strikes. But I wanna tell you, those episodes are fierce and the audiences should prepare themselves,' the actress added. 'This season, Alberta's going to be in her shenanigans and you also get to see more of me and Hetty [Rebecca Wisocky's character].'
Ultimately, it's still more than two months until Season 3 of Ghosts hits our screens. But we're looking forward to it.
