Ghost of Yotei Update 1.010 Arrives, But the Most-Requested Feature Is Still Missing

Ghost of Yotei’s 1.010 patch squashes a slew of bugs but skips the one feature fans crave most: New Game Plus. With Sucker Punch still holding back on NG+, players may be waiting longer than they hoped.
Ghost of Yotei just got a chunky update. Good news: lots of annoying bugs squashed. Bad news: still no New Game Plus. If you were waiting to restart your journey through the serene stretches of Ezo with all your gear intact, you might be waiting a bit longer.
New Game Plus is still MIA
New Game Plus has basically become a standard in big single-player games at this point. Replay value, keep your hard-earned build, face tougher fights, maybe snag some new rewards—it fits perfectly, especially in a game like Ghost of Yotei that leans hard on combat mastery and character growth. Which is why its absence sticks out.
Sucker Punch hasn’t pulled the trigger yet. They haven’t said it’s coming, and as of update 1.010, there’s nothing to suggest it’s right around the corner. That said, there’s a decent precedent: the studio added New Game Plus to Ghost of Tsushima a few months after it hit PS5, so it’s reasonable to think Yotei could get the same treatment once the team is ready.
And just to set expectations: adding NG+ isn’t a flip-a-switch situation. It usually means rebalancing enemy difficulty, reworking quest triggers, adjusting progression systems, and figuring out what new hooks make a second run interesting. That’s the kind of work that tends to land in a bigger title update, not a quick stability patch.
So what did update 1.010 actually do?
Instead of new modes, 1.010 is mostly about cleanup and stability—fixing issues that were tripping people up around the world. Here are the headline fixes:
- Reduced and fixed crashes across multiple parts of the game
- Squashed a respawn loop where players could repeatedly die in the same spot with their horse
- Fixed a progression blocker in the 'The Last Brother' bounty quest
- Resolved controller problems during the 'Kusarigama Regret' quest
- Improved Wolf Guard behavior so it properly responds to different sword kits
- Fixed Shrines showing up as incomplete even after you finished them
- Fixed the Epic Box not spawning, which could block 100% completion
- Stopped the oxygen meter from draining incorrectly when entering shallow water
There are more under-the-hood tweaks in the mix too, but those are the big ones.
The bottom line
Update 1.010 makes Ghost of Yotei a smoother ride, but if you were hoping to dive back into Ezo with New Game Plus, you’ll have to hold tight. No confirmation yet, and no sign it’s imminent—but the door isn’t closed.
If and when NG+ lands, what do you want to carry over, and what kind of second-run twists would make it worth your time? Tell me.
